PARIS: The internet is still attracting advertisers in France, having recorded its largest monthly adspend total of the year in November.

According to TNS Media Intelligence, online ad revenues stood at €434 million ($607.6m; £388.1m) in the European nation in the penultimate month of 2009, up by €34m on an annual basis.

The telecoms industry delivered some €54m of this total, making it the largest-spending category during this period, the research firm found.

Moreover, the uptick in web ad sales meant this channel took a 16% share of media budgets in the country, more than radio, cinema and outdoor.

Television remained the dominant medium on this measure, on 32.1%, with press on 28.4%, the WPP Group-owned organisation said.
