The first fall in online adspend since last August was recorded in February, says internet measurement specialist AdZone Interactive.

Monitoring a claimed base of 2,500 sites, between them accounting for 95% of all US ad revenues, AdZone recorded a total February spend of $1.7 billion, 5% less than January.

But overall, says the company, spending for the month stood 206% up on the $859.1m recorded in February 2000.
