PentaCom, the dedicated DaimlerChrysler agency set-up by Omnicom last year in Troy, Michigan, after landing the auto manufacturer’s media planning and buying business, is to re-badge its operations as PHD – the group’s UK media agency brand.
PentaCom will be renamed PHD Detroit, Advanswers will become PHD Chicago and PHD St Louis, while Creative Media rebrands as PHD New York and PHD San Francisco.
New York-based Steve Grubbs (49) is appointed to the new post of chief executive for PHD’s North American operations, while the shop’s worldwide chief executive, London-based David Pattison (45), relocates to New York.
The restructure lifts PHD’s US billings to around $4.5 billion.
