The new agency dedicated to Omnicom’s PepsiCo business [WAMN: 24-sep-01] is likely to be branded Verus, say insiders.
But responding to inquiries, DDB Chicago, the Omnicom unit whose office space the Pepsi unit shares, declined to discuss the reported christening: “No name has been selected yet,” it retorted stiffly.
Meanwhile, onlookers are speculating about the meaning of Verus. According to one, the word could be an amalgam of ‘Venus’ and ‘virus’, raising interesting if ribald conjecture.
