NEW YORK - Buoyed by a surge of new business last year, Omnicom Group this week reported 2005 net income of more than $790 million (€664.8m; £454m) on revenue of nearly $10.5 billion - respectively 9% and 8% improvements year-on-year.
Omnicom ceo John Wren hailed a record $5.5 billion in new business last year, while cfo Randy Weisenburger unbent sufficiently to concede during a conference call to analysts: "We're extremely pleased with our agencies' ability to gain market share."
