LONDON - UK media and telecoms regulator Ofcom announced Tuesday the appointment of Robert Ditcham as its new independent adjudicator for the Contracts Rights Renewal system.
He will be responsible for ruling on disputes between the advertising community and ITV, Britain's dominant commercial broadcaster, created by a merger of the nation's two largest commercial TV companies two years ago.
Ditcham succeeds David Connolly, the original appointee to the post. Ditcham (45) was previously commercial director of Initiative Media, managing a team of buyers across TV, print, radio and online.
He takes up his appointment on May 1.
