DELAWARE: Global media conglomerate News Corporation reported fiscal fourth quarter earnings rose 19% as stronger results from cable networks, broadcast television and movies outweighed a slump in newspapers.

NewsCorp earned $852 million (€661.8m; £447m) in the three months ended June 30, up from $717m in the period a year earlier. Revenue rose 11% to $6.78 billion, from $6.11bn.

The results were boosted by a $134m gain from the sale of a radio station group in the Netherlands and Germany.
