Nestlé Rains Cat and Dog Duties on Agency Quartet

News, 23 July 2002

Nestlé has consolidated the global creative business for its Purina PetCare unit at four agencies, with combined billings estimated at $200 million (€198m; £127m).

Publicis-owned Fallon Worldwide in Minneapolis will be lead agency on the worldwide accounts for ONE, Dog Chow and Puppy Chow, all of which it previously handled in the US. It also retains global duties on Pro Plan.

An Interpublic Group team of Avrett Free & Ginsberg and McCann-Erickson Worldwide picks up Friskies, Fancy Feast, Cat Chow and Kitten Chow in North America, Latin America and Japan.

Finally, Omnicom’s DDB Worldwide battles its way onto the Nestlé roster after winning European duties for Gourmet, Felix, Cat Chow, Kitten Chow and Friskies.

Two agencies lost out in the account reshuffle: the increasingly loss-prone pair Bates Worldwide and Lowe & Partners Worldwide.
