VEVEY, Switzerland: The world's largest food processor, Nestlé, this week posted 2006 full year profits up 13.8% to SF9.2 billion ($7.42bn; €5.66bn; £3.80bn).

Contributing to the profits hike was Australian diet foods company Jenny Craig, acquired for around $600 million in June.

Preened chairman/ceo Peter Brabeck-Letmathe: "We are seeing the benefits of the group's transformation into a nutrition, health and wellness company, with stronger innovation and branding, as well as improved efficiency."
