VEVEY, Switzerland: The world's biggest food manufacturing group, Nestlé, is to launch a cartoon campaign aimed at teaching youngsters the benefits of healthy eating.

The Munch Bunch yogurt characters will star in a series of short animations to be included on the brand's website initially.

The company hopes to roll out the Ogilvy Advertising-created short films to children's television channels, airlines, cinema and, eventually, to schools.

The characters aim to promote the healthful effects of calcium, omega-3, fibre and 'good bacteria' to children aged between five and eight.

A Nestlé spokesman says "The Munch Bunch characters have been part of Nestlé's heritage for a long time.

"We realised that by giving the characters a makeover and repositioning them we could use them to promote healthy eating to children. The film has been specifically devised to appeal to both mums and kids alike."
