AUCKLAND: The inhabitants of New Zealand's largest city can continue to eyeball ad billboards after regulators last week threw out a council plan to ban them [WARC News: 15-Dec-06].

However, new outdoor ad sites will be subject to stricter regulations governing location, height, size and lighting.

In a vote next month the council is expected to cede to the city commissioners' recommendations.
