This year’s Academy of Television Arts and Sciences award for the outstanding television commercial was won by Nike in a spot created by Wieden & Kennedy’s Portland, Oregon office.

Titled The Morning After, the tongue-in-cheek commercial depicts a runner blithely jogging through the post-Y2K devastation many feared would happen on January 1 2000.

One of five spots nominated for the award, The Morning After will be honored at the creative awards ceremony this upcoming Saturday. The presentation will be televised on September 10.
