NET TO GRAB 5% OF WORLD TRADE BY 2003

Global Internet-based commercial sales are forecast to reach $3,200 billion come 2003, forecasts Forrester Research, a US market researcher. This will account for nearly 5% of all world sales. In another piece of bullish research sponsored by Dell Computer, online shopping in the USA is expected to reach orbital velocity this holiday season. Of the 1,943 interviewees who used computers, 43% are likely to shop via the Internet this Christmas and New Year - a staggering 330% increase over last year when only 10% did so. 70% of respondents claimed to enjoy online shopping.
