DELAWARE - Media mogul Rupert Murdoch has appointed Spain's former prime minister José María Aznar to the board of News Corporation.
Since leaving office two years ago, Aznar has led a Madrid think-tank and appeared on the university lecture circuit, mainly in the US.
His free-market stance and allegiance to the US in its war on terror and invasion of Iraq aligns him closely with Murdoch's newspaper and television news outlets supportive of the political right.
