Yet more staff at ABC.com and ABCNews.com are to be axed as the Walt Disney Company struggles to staunch the cash hemorrhage at its internet operations which last year lost $402 million.
The latest round of layoffs – 135 in all – follows hard on the heels of last month's four hundred job cuts at Disney’s Go.com. The affected offices are in New York, Los Angeles and Seattle.
Says Disney Internet Group chairman Steve Bornstein: “These layoffs will help enable us to operate in a more efficient and streamlined manner as we drive toward becoming a profitable business.”
