Microsoft plans to get up close and personal with India's consumers to boost the number of home PCs in the country.
Currently, PC penetration stands at just 30%-35% (2.5 million), even in high-income households and despite an abundance of televisions, fridges and mobile phones in Indian homes.
Microsoft is holding talks with telecom firms, computer manufacturers and banks with the aim of offering a range of products such as PCs, software and games at retail outlets throughout India.
The software titan hopes to provide the 'complete PC experience' for budding technophiles.
