Microsoft president/chief operating officer Richard Belluzzo has revealed that the software titan and its partners are planning to spend $1 billion on marketing the launch of the new Windows XP operating system.
Slated for late October, the roll-out of Windows XP has been made Microsoft’s “No. 1 priority,” said Belluzzo. In line for the billings bonanza is McCann-Erickson, the agency handling the campaign.
Belluzzo added that Microsoft does not plan to reduce its marketing spend despite the economic slowdown.
