LUXEMBOURG - The software titan has launched its appeal against the European Commission's anti-trust ruling.
Microsoft wants the appeals court to throw out a March 2004 EC ruling which found it had used its Windows operating system monopoly to hinder competition.
The company paid a record €497 million($614m; £343m) penalty and was forced to make a version of Windows available in Europe without Windows Media Player bundled as part of the package. The hearing is expected to run all week.
