Three agencies – all of the Interpublic Group – remain in the race for the $30–$60 million account of Michelin North America.

Still in the running are Carmichael Lynch in Minneapolis; Warren, Michigan’s Campbell-Ewald; and the Martin Agency in Richmond, Virginia (part of IPG’s Lowe Group division).

Fallen by the wayside are Leo Burnett USA in Chicago (part of the Bcom3 Group); New York’s Merkley Newman Harty (Omnicom); and the Richards Group in Dallas.

Seventeen-year incumbent DDB Worldwide in New York dropped out of the race when the field was cut to six in April [WAMN: 25-Apr-01].

The final choice is expected towards the start of next month.
