Nearly one in five members of Britain's Institute of Practitioners in Advertising are now specialist media planning/buying agencies, reports the IPA 2000 industry census.

Published this week [WAMN: 29-Oct-01], the census reveals that media shops now comprise 17.6% of IPA membership compared with 11.3% in 1994. By contrast, over the same seven year period, the creative services sector increased by only one percentage point, from 8.4% to 9.4%.
