New York-based independent media shop Catalyst is currently in negotiations with potential buyers, according to president/ceo Frank Muratore.
Although the agency has not revealed why it has decided to look for a buyer, it is thought that it has found it hard to compete with global media networks.
Catalyst – until recently known as TBS Media Management – is one of America’s oldest media shops, founded in 1960 as RDR Associates. It claims billings of over $200 million, with clients including Hotjobs.com, Bennigan’s restaurant group and Midway Home Entertainment.
