OAKBROOK, ILLINOIS -The purveyor of burgers to the planet saw revenues rise 6% in the first quarter to $5.1 billion (€4.1bn; £2.84bn).
Sales were up thanks to McDonald's global 'Plan to Win' strategy, launched in 2003, which has revitalized the brand, refurbished outlets and introduced healthier menus.
But despite increased sales, Big M saw Q1 net income sink to $625.3 million compared with $727.9m a year before.
