McDonald's has signed as an Olympic sponsor for the next eight years.
The burger behemoth has sponsored the games for almost three decades, and usually renews its deal every four years. However, it has broken with tradition by signing through to 2012.
Terms of the agreement have not been released, but companies typically pay over $50 million (€40m; £27m) for global sponsorship of a single Olympics.
Under the deal, McDonald's can describe itself as the official restaurant of the games and use the Olympic 'rings' logo in its marketing.
