ECC Advertising (Frankfurt and Berlin) and McCann-Erickson Worldwide (Frankfurt) are battling for a $50 million (€53m; £34m) advertising account from Deutsche Bank.

The two shops have been asked to provide ideas on how DB should promote itself as it launches a restructuring programme expected to involve 15,000 redundancies.

The bank is trying to recover from the fallout of its failed Deutsche Bank 24 brand, handled by ECC. McCann, meanwhile, is incumbent on corporate and private banking advertising. A third, unnamed agency is also rumoured to be involved.
