Singapore-headquartered oil company Caltex has tapped McCann-Erickson Worldwide to handle its ad business in designated Asian and South African markets. Billings are estimated at $30 million.
McCann triumphed in a four-way pitch against Young & Rubicam, Publicis and TBWA Singapore. Until now Caltex, a joint venture between Texaco and Chevron, had used local agencies in different markets, including the Philippines office of McCann.
