The year 2000 saw a record number of advertising pages in magazines, according to New York-based Publishers’ Information Bureau.

The number of ad pages rose 10.1% last year to 286,932, setting records both for the aggregated total and growth rate.

However, the outlook is less rosy if December’s trend continues: a 2% fall in ad pages from 25,463 to 24, 962.
