MOTOROLA EXPANDS OPENTV STAKE

Motorola has announced plans to purchase a further 1.88 million shares in the interactive TV company OpenTV, raising its stake to 5.4%.

The shares will be bought from US media group News America for an undisclosed sum.

Motorola and OpenTV aim to work more closely together, and are planning to offer Motorola’s digital set-top terminals alongside OpenTV software, according to the companies.
