THE MICROSOFT PR juggernaut ground into gear following a successful UK pilot of its WebTV system, a combination of TV and internet services. According to research released by the software giant, up to age 24, most WebTV surfers are female and e-mail their main interest. Men, numerically in the ascendancy from 25 upward, apparently prefer playing games over the web. Seventy per cent said the service 'met their expectations', while almost three-quarters 'would recommend it to friends'.
