Sir Frank Lowe, eponymous chairman of Interpublic-owned Lowe & Partners Worldwide and holder of the equivalent position at IPG’s sports marketing group Octagon, will quit at the end of this year.

London-based Lowe, who has made no secret of his dislike of transatlantic commuting, will consult for Lowe as a non-executive chairman – a device that is frequently employed as a disincentive to competitive activity.

Lowe was one of a quartet of Interpublic senior executives who resigned from the group board during its reorganization earlier this year. Nor was he appointed to a senior role in The Partnership, the newly created operating unit that now encompasses Octagon and Lowe & Partners.
