Dublin-headquartered independent shop McConnells Advertising is, it is thought, in the process of being acquired by Lowe Lintas & Partners Worldwide. Financial details have not been revealed.

McConnells – the biggest agency in Ireland with billings of £40 million – is one of the few indigenous agencies to have held out against the advances of the big international networks.

Numbered among the shop’s clients are Eircom, Ireland’s National Lottery and Lever Brothers. However, McConnells’ work for AIB and Kellogg’s clashes with Lowe’s HSBC and Weetabix accounts.
