The new global network announced last week by Interpublic Group [WAMN: 22-May-01] is a key part of chief executive John Dooner’s masterplan to anchor IPG as world number one advertising group.
IPG as holding company will control four primary international advertising networks:
Newly formed The Partnership will comprise Deutsch, Lowe Lintas & Partners, Mullen/LHC, The Martin Agency, Dailey & Associates, Initiative Media, DraftWorldwide, Golin/Harris and Suissa Miller. Also included are two agencies now entering the Interpublic fold via its acquisition of True North Communications – Bozell and Avrett Free Ginsberg.
WorldGroup will encompass the total McCann-Erickson operation alongside Campbell-Ewald; Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos; and Temerlin McClain.
Allied Marketing Services is to incorporate all Interpublic’s marketing services operations, including direct and sales promotional businesses.
FCB Worldwide, now in the final stages of acquisition, is expected to remain a standalone unit, while the future of TN Media is described as a “phase two” decision.
