Revenues from advertising on interactive television will grow at an average annual rate of 114% in the US for the next three years, according to a study by Boston-based research group TRACE.

The report estimates that ads on interactive program guides, video-on-demand and other iTV services will generate $2.1 billion in 2005 (€2.1bn; £1.3bn), around 6.3% of total TV adspend. Program guides will be the highest earner, taking over $794m.

TRACE’s forecasts are based on increased adoption of interactive TV, with 122 million homes expected to have it by 2005.
