LONDON: Troubled British commercial broadcaster ITV reports full-year advertising revenues at its flagship ITV1 and GMTV breakfast channels are down 12.5% and 3% respectively.

The company, which has been in turmoil for most of 2006, revealed in a trading statement that it will not spend more than the expected £1 billion ($1.97bn; €1.49bn) on programming next year.

Interim ceo John Cresswell said airtime sales remained "challenging", although the digital channels continued to perform strongly and ad revenues were up nearly 40%.
