Toe-to-toe with current champion, BBC1’s The Weakest Link, the Premiership made an inauspicious start attracting an audience of only 4.3 million to the weekend’s key viewing slot, compared with the 6.7m who tuned-in to watch Anne Robinson do her hard woman act.
