UK television giant ITV is planning a September debut for its third channel.

Named ITV3, the station will feature classic drama and target older, more upmarket viewers than sibling ITV2.

But before the new channel can launch, ITV must first reach an agreement with BSkyB over the two companies' GSkyB joint venture. This operates pay-TV channel Granada Plus and has rights to much of the old ITV drama that would form the basis of ITV3.
