A COMMITTEE of senior executives from major client companies has been set-up by the Incorporated Society of British Advertisers and the Institute of Sales Promotion. Its function is to take action on key issues affecting promotions and advertising, witness the recent moves to ban tobacco advertising. A joint initiative by ISBA chief executive John Hooper [himself a former sp consultant and co-founder of Clarke Hooper] and ISP chairman Simon Mahoney, the committee’s genesis was triggered by mounting accusations within the promotions industry of tardiness in reacting to events and threats in the marketplace. It will meet as and when necessary.
