INTERPUBLIC RESHAPES GLOBAL PR UNITS

New York-headquartered marketing services conglomerate Interpublic has restructured its three public relations businesses into two global networks within its Allied Communications Group.

Technology specialist Weber Public Relations Worldwide will merge with Shandwick International effective January 1 2001. The new unit, to be known as Weber Shandwick Worldwide, will be headed as ceo by Larry Weber, chairman/ceo of Allied Communications Group.

Concurrently, public affairs shop Weber McGinn will be integrated into Golin/Harris International, as will creative services company Ovation Studios plus technology specialists Mindstorm Communications and TSI Communications. The entirety will trade as Golin/Harris International.
