American advertising research firm AdZone Interactive reports that internet ad spend in the period January-June 2000 rose by 54% from $818.5 million (1999) to $1.26 billion this year. The figures belie talk of a dotcom slowdown, says the company.
Ad spend for the top ten cyber-brands in June alone totalled $367 million, with RealNetworks’ $103.5 million leading the herd. Top website by revenues was AOL.com with $65m, comfortably ahead of Yahoo! with $46m.
