Catalogue shop Index is enjoying great success with its automatic interactive voice response system to handle customer telephone enquiries. Over one million customers have used the Store Locator system, operated via call handling bureau IMS, to obtain details on store locations, opening times and product availability. The system can handle 300 calls simultaneously and is linked to Index's main stock database accessing information from over a million records.
