ICSTIS CLAMPS DOWN ON ‘FREE MERCEDES’ SCAM

News, 01 January 1999

PREMIUM LINE telephone watchdog ICSTIS has imposed a £100,000 fine on Leisure Line London, an outfit based in that fashionable district of the capital, High Wycombe. The company has also been banned from operating premium line services for one year following a torrent of complaints about a ‘free Mercedes’ competition which, according to ICSTIS, ‘left thousands of people out of pocket’. The company is run by a Colin Butler, who was unavailable for comment.
