Havas is set to launch a new network of agencies spanning the globe, merging Arnold Communications into its Campus Network, creating an enlarged entity: Arnold Worldwide Partners.
The network, with Boston’s Arnold as lead agency, will be a truly international affair. Included are Rempen & Partners in Germany, Spain’s La Banda, Ata de Martini in Italy, French shop devarrieuvillaret, Age in Brazil and Canada’s Vickers & Benson. Potential agency acquisitions in Australia and the Far East are also being targeted.
Havas’s UK offshoots WCRS and Partners BDDH will also be involved, although they will continue to compete domestically.
There is considerable potential client conflict, especially in the car sector: Arnold handles Volkswagen business, Partners BDDH holds a slice of Mercedes-Benz and WCRS works for BMW.
The launch of the fledgling network has spurred rumours over the future of WCRS /Campus chair Robin Wight, who insiders say is considering quitting to run his own consultancy rather than defer to AWP chief executive Ed Eskandarian.
