LONDON: Guardian Unlimited, the website of The Guardian newspaper and its Sunday sister The Observer, has announced a tie-up with Texas-based social networking platform Pluck as it seeks to extend the range of interactive services available to its users.

Guardian News and Media wants to include tools on its web services to allow readers to engage with each other as well as adding their own content to previously-existing articles.

Pluck already offers tools such as photo- and video-sharing, commenting and blog facilities to a variety of publications, including The Washington Post, The Economist and Reuters.

According to figures from industry measurement body ABCe, Guardian Unlimited – the most popular website of any UK newspaper – had almost 16 million unique users in December 2007, down from a high-point of over 18 million in October last year.
