HANOI: Advertising conglomerate WPP Group is continuing its strategy of developing networks in fast growing markets with its latest investment in Vietnam.

The UK-headquartered company has bought 30% stakes in three media firms through its GroupM network.

The trio of businesses are part of the Datviet VAC Group, which employs 128 staff in Vietnam and generated revenues of £4.8 million ($9.4m; €6.09m) last year.

WPP has 15 offices in the country, including media agencies MindShare, MediaCom and Mediaedge:cia and creative agencies Ogilvy & Mather, JWT and Grey.

Vietnam has been identified by investment bankers Goldman Sachs as one of the "Next 11" world economies to watch.
