THE SPLENDIDLY fusty family-owned classical music magazine Gramophone has succumbed to the lure of the World Wide Web [and hard cash] in a £200,000 deal with US-owned Internet bookseller Amazon, the world’s largest bookseller, has recently diversified into classical music CDs, and signed Gramophone to review those on offer to its customers. Editorial director Christopher Pollard modestly conceded that Gramophone’s reviews would confer 'a great deal of integrity' on Amazon.
