Auto giant General Motors and internet marketplace eBay have signed a marketing deal to promote each other on and offline.

The relationship, to last throughout 2001, will see various joint promotions and community activities to drive traffic to the eBay Motors site. GM will use the site to showcase its products and services complementing and extending those already on offer.

GM ads will also run on, and the car manufacturer will become the sole motoring sponsor of live auctions held by eBay’s Kruse International division.
