California-headquartered business software specialist PeopleSoft has trimmed the contenders for its estimated $30 million advertising account to just four shops.

The surviving quartet comprises incumbent of four years, the San Francisco office of Kirshenbaum Bond & Partners West; Havas-owned Arnold Worldwide (Boston/San Francisco); plus Omnicom siblings BBDO Worldwide (New York) and Goodby, Silverstein & Partners (San Francisco).

The review, which was initiated in the spring by [then] newly-appointed senior vp/chief marketing officer Nanci Caldwell, will be completed by mid-October. Meantime, Caldwell refuses to reveal the identity of the shops which failed to make it through to the final.
