BRENTWOOD, ESSEX - The auto-making giant has appointed Mark Ovenden as its UK marketing director. He joins from the European division, where he was small car brand manager.
   Ovenden, who succeeds Steve Hood, will oversee Ford of Britain's £79 million ($138m; €114m) advertising budget and its relationship with WPP Group-owned ad agency Ogilvy & Mather. WPP stable-mate Mindshare is responsible for the company's media planning and buying.
