For the upcoming reincarnation of the legendary Jaguar X-Type, new owner Ford Motor Company has appointed Young & Rubicam Advertising, New York, to handle the sports car’s global launch.

Y&R won the business in competition with fellow WPP siblings Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide and J Walter Thompson.

Rumor around Madison Avenue is that the agency’s acquisition of the prestigious Jaguar business presages the award of Ford’s entire $100 million worldwide account.
