The marketing, TV rights and commercial sponsorship of UK Athletics – the sport’s British governing body – are to be managed by Fast Track Sales, part of Sports Resource Group.
Running for the next five years, FTS’s contract includes the Birmingham-hosted World Indoor Championships in 2003 and the World Outdoor Championships in London in 2005. UK Athletics recently signed a five-year, £20 million sponsorship deal with Norwich Union, negotiated by FTS.
Separately, Sports Resource Group has revealed it is buying rival Sports Media Consultancy for £100,000. The acquired firm will collaborate with FTS’s consulting arm on events such as the Volvo Ocean Race.
