LONDON: The publisher of UK-headquartered business daily, the Financial Times, has appointed Ben Hughes to the new position of global commercial director and deputy ceo while Frances Brindle dons the mantle of global marketing director.

Hughes joined the FT in 1983 and was previously worldwide advertising director. He is now charged with strengthening the title's partnerships with corporate clients and running global advertising operations.

Brindle, currently marketing director for the EMEA region, joined the FT earlier this year from Barclays International.
